I recently stayed at this hotel after a missed flight. Room was on basement level which involved a few steps down but room and bathroom was very spacious, clean and quiet. Enjoyed dinner in the restaurant. All staff we encountered were pleasant and friendly including shuttle bus driver. Would recommend. Wasn’t nearest hotel to airport but didn’t take long in shuttle bus.
My wife and I had a wonderful day having treatments, afternoon tea and leisure. All the staff were brilliant especially Ami in the spa. I would highly recommend her as she did an amazing job and made us feel very relaxed and revitalised. The afternoon tea was perfect and plentiful. We will definitely be returning. Thank you
We stayed here before our early. Opening flight to France the next day. The man who checked us in on the desk was excellent and really helpful. Good size room and clean although very warm with there being no AC. We ate at San Carlo on the Friday night we stayed. Food was great. Excellent service and food came out promptly. We were lucky we didn’t have some of the problems the other reviewers have mentioned. This is where it really spoilt our stay. 4 adults had paid for breakfast at £16.95pp. My 2 year old daughter was with us and being a fussy eater i let her share my breakfast. I had fruit and a muffin and a cooked breakfast. She also shared some of my Frosties. All in all she ate a slice of melon and 3 Frosties from the bowl. The brasserie manager approached us and told us we had to pay £8.25 for her when we left. My partner went up to him at the front desk and said she is 2 years old you didn’t even give her a bed here (we had to bring a blow up Peppa pig bed). I am not paying £8.25 for a 2 year old that has had a bite of her mums melon and 3 Frosties when we have already paid £68 for all our breakfasts. This left a really sour taste in our mouth that they were wanting to charge an extortionate amount for a toddler that has had a few bites of food off her mums plate. We have never had this problem anywhere before. Most restaurants even give you a plate to transfer some of your meal to your child. Eg Toby carvery, even San Carlo the previous night as they also didn’t have a children’s menu. So she shared my pizza. We’re at Disneyland now where she doesn’t get meal vouchers and they expect your 2 year old just to eat from your plate and share. We told the jobs worth we weren’t paying £8.25 for 3 bites of her mums food. All in all was a good stay until the restaurant manager tried to con us. And for this we will not stay here again.
I had made the hotel aware of a number of issues I had during my stay at the Marriott, via a direct review facility with Marriott hotels.(I chose not to make the review public as I felt there was no need as my complaint would be resolved. How wrong I was.) After an initial response from the hotel, despite 2 further emails I sent, they chose to ignore them. I have finally had a swift response from the Marriott group after I emailed the European President and CEO. Who kindly emailed me directly and would look into the matter for me. At least someone in the group values their customers.
One night stay. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Room was in what felt like the basement and 28 degrees c when I arrived, didn’t feel comfortable opening window as room was sub ground level so air con put on once I could work out the ancient thermostat. Bathroom was dated but clean, bedding was usual Marriott standard and comfortable. Marriott has tried to update the room with newishpaint, wall covering and drapes but I felt this hotel is dated and in need of a serious makeover. Bar staff friendly, did not try restaurant.
